WWE NXT: Pros and cons of Chelsea Green going solo so soon
By Amit Shukla
Chelsea Green has made a name for herself on the black and gold brand, but was firiing her WWE NXT manager right now best for business?
Last Wednesday, Chelsea Green teamed up with the WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and secured a win against Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai. The match was phenomenal because the superstars gave it their all, and made it a must-watch for the WWE Universe at home.
The good thing in this match was that Chelsea Green scored a win after a long time. Her real-life fiancee was released a month and a half ago by the WWE, but Chelsea has moved up the ladder with her unique presentation skills alongside Robert Stone.
Robert Stone has served as the manager of Green until this week before the latter fired the former and paved the way for some entertaining segments in the weeks to come.
Chelsea Green defeated two of the best wrestlers on the black and gold brand and one would have to give Green credit for teaming up with the top women’s star on their roster. While it came as a good thing for her, the win put Robert Stone in the unemployment line and one would have to see if this was a wise decision or not.
I try to evaluate this decision through the pros and cons before deciding if it was ultimately a good or bad idea on Chelsea Green’s part.
Not A Good Idea
First, I want to briefly talk about the underwhelming reason on why this might not the best idea to separate the manager from his client so soon because she has just started to rise up the ranks on NXT. Her quick success and popularity has been in large part to having Robert Stone by her side as a mouthpiece.
Robert Stone has introduced Green well in previous episodes and so it isn’t a good idea to fire someone when you are at the entrance gate of new and bigger things. Chelsea Green needs a good manager, and Robert Stone would have been the perfect person on the job, but does it also mean hindrances?
A Perfect Opportunity To Shine
Green is not new to the wrestling circuit and one would have to understand that she has all the skills in the world to be her own mouthpiece and manager.
A superstar of her caliber would require some great experience by their side, and this is where her previous work experience comes to her aide. Her self representation would help the WWE Universe know more about her as a performer and as a person.
In my personal opinion, this is ultimately a good idea and Chelsea did the right thing by firing Robert Stone on NXT.
