Possible continuation of the story-line

If there’s ever an indication that the story-line between Orton and Edge is going to continue, then Orton getting a victory over Edge makes the feud more competitive. As both performers are still popular among WWE fans, this may indicate that a trilogy match is to take place. Possibly at SummerSlam, considering that event is known as the second biggest PPV behind WrestleMania.

Some might argue that a possible trilogy match between the two performers would draw more if both Orton and Edge were to be given one victory against each other. Though there’s an argument against 50/50 booking in WWE, and rightfully so, the bottom line is Orton can’t afford to lose twice in a row against a part-time performer.

Plus, on a side note, having Edge, who just came out of retirement, beat Orton in a normal match while having a victory over him in a “Last Man Standing” match makes no sense whatsoever. For years, Orton continues to be an integral part of WWE programming, whether he’d be a babyface or a heel. As one of the few full-time main-event superstars with credibility, he must win to not only protect his interest as well but for the story-line as well.
