Asuka will defend the WWE Raw Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair tonight.

At Backlash, Asuka faced Nia Jax in a WWE Raw Women’s Championship match, and she had the upper hand on her opponent yet again. However, the match ended in a double count-out, as The Empress of Tomorrow couldn’t bring the action back inside the ring.

About eight days after Backlash, Asuka will defend the prestigious championship against long-time foe Charlotte Flair, who is back in the Raw title picture after recently dropping the NXT Women’s Championship to Io Shirai at TakeOver: In Your House.

Here are three reasons why The Empress needs to finally conquer The Queen.

This shouldn’t be a one-sided story

This latest match between Charlotte and Asuka comes less than one month after the two women squared off on Raw in a non-title match with The Empress as champion. And guess who won this champion vs. champion match? Yup, Charlotte Flair.

She also technically beat Asuka in late May by count-out.

Charlotte has consistently beaten Asuka. She is the one opponent Asuka always loses to, as the formerly undefeated Black and Gold brand star cannot seem to avenge her WrestleMania 34 loss to The Queen when she lost her Goldberg-shattering streak.

Asuka needs to be Charlotte. Yes, this isn’t a marquee Pay Per View match where the revenge would feel sweeter, but in light of all the heat Charlotte has from fans, it would still be a strong babyface moment for Asuka during the early portion of her title reign.
