Which wrestlers helped themselves the most by leaving WWE?

WWE is the world’s biggest wrestling juggernaut, but truth be told, it is one of those that served a lot of people because the company has allowed the superstars to become a household name. The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin became fan favorites and have created a niche for themselves thanks to the WWE, but not all is nice and dandy in the company.

Wrestling style has evolved over the years, and in 2020 the superstars want to showcase their in-ring and on-mic skills more than perform like a comical character. It is one of many reasons why Cesaro looked extremely annoyed during his segment on SmackDown, and a lot of current, as well as former superstars, have voiced their displeasure over WWE proceedings.

While some superstars walked away from the company, some others received their release information on April 15. It took the world (especially the wrestling world) by surprise, but while some had their commitments with the company, some others had expressed their disinterest and didn’t decide to renew contracts. These five superstars have raised their share after walking away from the WWE:

Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy is one half of the legendary WWE tag-team ‘The Hardy Boys,’ and he has proven time and again that he doesn’t need the ‘Lake of Reincarnation’ to reinvent himself. The superstar didn’t sign his new contract but instead decided to switch companies and try something anew.

He created his ‘Delete’ persona in Impact Wrestling, which was a fan favorite when he, along with his brother, returned to the WWE during the tag-team match at WrestleMania 33. The Hardy Compound was once again on TV, but this time on WWE TV, but the company didn’t give him the creative freedom that the veteran sought. It led to the 11-time tag team champion to ‘Delete’ his contract with the WWE, and move to a new company where he is doing exceptional work.
