WWE NXT: 5 wrestlers we’d love to see Randy Orton face
Rhea Ripley
Randy Orton and Nia Jax traded blows during the Royal Rumble, and Nia beating Orton would be a sight to behold. But it would even cooler if Rhea Ripley pinned Orton in an actual match. I know there’s probably no realistic way this happens, but since NXT is featuring more matches with men and women in the ring together, maybe this could actually happen.
At the very least, I’m going to will it into happening. Because watching Ripley beat the hell out of Orton, kick out of an RKO, and hit him with the Riptide would be awesome. Like, if Rhea can beat Shayna Baszler when she was THE dominant champion in WWE, throwing everything she had at Ripley, then Rhea can beat Orton.
Adam Cole
Finally, we come to Adam Cole. The man has fulfilled his destiny as WWE NXT’s top star when he debuted with his friends from ROH at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, beating the hell out of then-champion (well, he is a champion today, too) Drew McIntyre.
Cole has been the most dominant male champion in the brand’s history, surpassing even Finn Balor. The leader of the Undisputed Era, Cole has the in-ring psychology, promo chops, charisma, and knowledge of ALL the little things to stand toe-to-toe with Orton and make an impression on the WWE legend. A Cole vs. Orton feud would be much better than an Orton vs. Ciampa rivalry.
