WWE Raw Results and Grades: Three can’t-miss returns and a dream match
The Kevin Owens Show with Seth Rollins
Grade: A, Another excellent segment that builds towards Extreme Rules, gets KO involved, and sets up an even more interesting tag match.
It was wonderful to see Kevin Owens back! Owens took the chairs out of the ring in anticipation of Seth Rollins being his guest and pretended to show concern when he broke two of the chairs.
KO spared the introduction, other than calling Rollins a “pretty giant piece of trash” instead of the Monday Night Messiah.
Recalling their WrestleMania 36 match and the moment they created, KO handed Rollins a #KOMania shirt akin to the shirt he wore when he defeated Rollins at ‘Mania. What a generous gift! Which Rollins, of course, tossed to the side.
Rollins clarified that he doesn’t care about Owens or his show, but he wants to use Owens’ show as a platform to announce that Rey Mysterio has been medically cleared to compete. He “formally challenged” Mysterio to a match at Extreme Rules, which will surely be among the most highly-anticipated on the card.
Although Owens has told Rollins that things haven’t gone well for Seth since his WrestleMania loss, Rollins turned the tables on KO and said that things aren’t going well for the Prizefighter. He said that KO needs Rollins and that he should join Seth to fight for the greater good!
Before KO could stew on this wild offer, Mysterio entered the arena with his son Dominick. Mysterio was incredulous that Rollins thought he could convince KO to join him.
Rollins made a joke about Aleister Black being attacked backstage and no longer being able to compete in their schedule tag match on WWE Raw that night, so he suggested Dominick could wrestle. Owens then piped up and said he’d never fight with Seth by his side, but he wanted to be Rey’s replacement partner for Aleister.
And better yet, the winner of this tag match will pick the stipulation at Extreme Rules!
