WWE’s Eye for an Eye match at Extreme Rules is going to go completely off the rails.

The Horror Show at Extreme Rules will feature a few matches that everyone is excited for, such as Asuka vs. Sasha Banks for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship and Bayley vs. Nikki Cross for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Another Bray Wyatt cinematic match – this time featuring Braun Strowman – should be exciting, too.

But if you thought the Wyatt Swamp Fight would be on your radar of “silly wrestling gimmick matches”, then you are in store for something even wilder when Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio face off in an Eye for an Eye Match.

It all started when Rollins attacked Mysterio and stabbed him in the eye with the steel steps on an episode of Raw. Since then, he’s said that Mysterio must be sacrificed for the “Greater Good” of Monday Night Raw, and he’s also tried to recruit Mysterio’s son Dominik (WWE keeps switching how they spell his name, by the way).

On July 19, it will all come to a head at Extreme Rules, as Mysterio challenged Rollins to an Eye for an Eye match after being able to choose the stipulation when he won a tag match.

What will happen in an Eye for an Eye match, you ask? Well, according to the Wrestling Observer News’ Dave Meltzer, via IWNerd.com, something gross.

Meltzer says that for the finish of the match, WWE is planning on using CGI to simulate someone having their eye taken out in the match.

Basically, if that ends up happening, Rollins looks like the one who will lose the match and have his eye ripped off. This means we’ll get “Pirate Seth Rollins”, and that sounds like a win to me. I mean, Rey can’t possibly have his eyeball taken out after what happened to him? If the match is an Eye for an Eye, then Mysterio is getting his comeuppance, as the title says.

I just can’t wait to see exactly how they pull this off with CGI and what’s the final move that leads to an eye being ripped out. WWE is having way too much fun with these cinematic matches.
