Impact Wrestling could have a few former WWE stars showing up at Slammiversary 2020 next week.

Exactly one week from now on July 18, one day before WWE‘s Horror Show, Impact Wrestling will air one of its two biggest Pay Per Views of the year in Slammiversary 2020. And the hype levels for the show are through the roof.

The matches already announced for Slammiversary are excellent. There will be a No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal for the Knockouts Championships, Willie Mack will face Chris Bey in an X Division title match, and Jordynne Grace and Deonna Purrazzo could have a Match of the Year candidate for the Knockouts Titles.

But what adds to the intrigue surrounding the show is the possibility of former WWE stars making their Impact Wrestling returns or debuts.

EC3 is rumored to be making his return next Saturday amidst constantly teasing signing with either Impact or AEW. The Good Brothers Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have already reportedly agreed to deals with both Impact Wrestling and NJPW.

And now, Heath Slater is teasing something big on July 18.

Wrestling fans were in awe with Slater this past week when he showed up on WWE Raw, cutting an intense promo and looking incredibly jacked. Slater has mostly been a comedy character in WWE throughout the years, whether teaming up with Rhino (another Impact star) or Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre in the Three Man Band.

Slater, in storyline, was used by Dolph Ziggler to get in McIntyre’s head before next Sunday’s WWE Title match, but Slater and McIntyre made up when the segment ended.

In reality, this was an opportunity for Slater to boost his stock before his big move, and he reminded wrestling fans why he’s a super talented promo guy and character. He could do big things in Impact Wrestling, and signing this misused wrestlers from WWE could be the injection and seriousness the Men’s Division needs. Looking at Purrazzo’s immediate success, it looks like the Tuesday night wrestling brand will be serious about pushing these wrestlers.
