Togi Makabe, Tomoaki Honma and Gabriel Kidd vs. Satoshi Kojima, Yuji Nagata and Ryuske Taguchi

Result: Yugi Nagata submits Gabriel Kidd with a cross face lock.

A solid match and good learning experience for the young lion Gabriel Kidd. There is no better way to learn the NJPW style of professional wrestling than to be in the ring with these five men with nearly 180 years of in-ring experience between them. I’ll admit that I am not a huge fan of 6 man tag matches because of how busy they quickly become but this was a phenomenal match for the young lion Gabriel Kidd who loses nothing in defeat.

Grade: C –

The second match saw LIJ members in action for the first time since the shocking betrayal of founding member EVIL when he attacked the leader of their stable Tetsuya Naito in the center of the ring before defecting to the Bullet Club when Sanada, Bushi, and Hiromu Takahashi took on “The Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano and Yota Tsuji in six-man action.

Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano and Yota Tsuji vs Sanada, Bushi and Hiromu Takahashi

Result: Hiromu Takahashi submits Yota Tsuji with a Boston Crab.

Another developmental match for a young lion in Yota Tsuji but with deeper psychology at play. LIJ seems troubled but unified at least for the moment following the horrific betrayal of EVIL last night. While I am still not a fan of 6 man matches but this gets a slight bump because of Hiromu Takahashi’s involvement in the decision.

Grade: C+
