The sixth match of the night saw the “Ace of New Japan” Hiroshi Tanahashi and “Golden Star” Kota Ibushi defend their IWGP Tag Team Championships against Suzuki Gunn stablemates Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi.

IWGP Tag Team Championship: Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kota Ibushi (C)

Result: Zack Sabre Jr. pins Hiroshi Tanahashi – TITLE CHANGE

The match got off to a quick start as Tanahashi and Ibushi took the fight to Taichi and ZSJ beating them both down before the bell in the ring.  The Ace and Golden Star kept up the pressure against the Suzuki Gunn unit for the duration of the match using their combination of speed and raw strength to their advantage not allowing either Suzuki Gunn member the opportunity to enter in a mat wrestling contest with the champions.

The high point of the match for me came when Taichi and Ibushi, in the ultimate show of machismo traded blistering kicks back and forth to one another chests in the center of the ring standing stock still and encouraging one another to try and hurt the other man.

Momentum shifted wildly after Tachi was able to dispose of Ibushi outside the ring rendering him incapacitated before ZSJ proceeded to pick apart the knees and hips of the ace eventually pinning him in the center of the ring to take the titles.

Grade: B+

The seventh match and main event of Dominion saw former stablemates EVIL and Tetsuya Naito face-off for both he IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships.
