WWE Extreme Rules 2020: 5 wrestlers who need to win

An eye for an eye match. There is no doubt that this match between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins is going to be ridiculous, and I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone else involved in this rivalry gets involved. Dominik, Aleister Black, Humberto Carrillo, and Murphy have all played roles in this storyline…even Kevin Owens has been involved! But it seems to all revolve around Dominik, Rey, and Seth.

Rollins is obsessed with making Mysterio a “sacrifice” to the “Greater Good of Monday Night Raw”, which has to do with some sort of divine message he’s receiving as the Monday Night Messiah. The false prophet probably just needs to lay off the mushrooms or at least quit reading whichever Twitter account is telling him Mysterio is the reason why Paul Heyman got fired and young talent on Raw aren’t getting pushed. But I digress.

The entire premise of this match revolves around Rollins trying to permanently blind Mysterio in one eye on the Raw after his Money in the Bank world title loss to Drew McIntyre. Rollins acted bizarre for the entire night before stabbing Mysterio in the eye with the steel steps, and he’s even tried to do the same to Carrillo and Dominik since then.

Hence, Mysterio challenged him to this eye for an eye gimmick match at the Horror Show itself. It’s all about a legendary babyface getting comeuppance on one of WWE’s best male heels. And if Mysterio doesn’t win and we don’t get Rollins with an eyepatch, then what are we doing here?
