Shayna Baszler is ready to take someone out

When Shayna Baszler first rose to prominence on NXT, she did so by taking out competitors and creating her own opportunities by straight-up choking people out. She tormented the women’s locker room, bullying then-babyfaces Candice LeRae and Dakota Kai. And she ended up becoming a two-time champion with her second reign being the longest in the brand’s history.

Baszler hasn’t been used much since losing the Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania 36 to Becky Lynch in what was a much better match than her detractors expected. And after a surprisingly poor Survivor Series 2019 main event with Becky and Bayley, Shayna did actually have detractors.

On this week’s episode of WWE Raw, we saw her speaking angrily as she watched her old rival Kairi Sane face SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley (and beat her). And then she delivered an even better promo when given more time to talk on Raw Talk, speaking candidly about the lack of opportunities she’s been given. She then laid down an Open Challenge.

Maybe somebody accepts, maybe they don’t. But the woman who cleaned house in the most dominant Elimination Chamber performance ever probably isn’t going to be satisfied with an Open Challenge. SummerSlam is around the corner, Asuka is probably winning her title back, and a killer heel needs to emerge as her challenger. That killer heel is Shayna.
