Here’s what happened at the NJPW Sengoku Lord in Nagoya show.

Coming off the heels of a truly incredible NJPW Dominion show which saw three new champions crowned with the IWGP Tag Team Champions Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi falling to Tachi and Zach Sabre Jr. and the IWGP Heavyweight Champion and Intercontinental champion Tetsuya Naito’s controversial fall to former stablemate EVIL.

NJPW Sengoku Lord in Nagoya looked to continue to build on the momentum the company has gathered since their restart in June of this year following the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The card built upon the stories that were either established or started at Dominion as two of the title matches on the card were set up at the Dominion show. We saw El Desperado challenge current IWGP Never Openweight title holder Shingo Takagi a match that was set after Desperado attacked Takagi following the successful defense of his title against SHO of Roppongi 3K.

We also saw EVIL’s former stablemate and current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi challenge EVIL for his titles in the main event of Sengoku Lord following his defeat of former champion Tetsuya Naito. A challenge that was accepted by EVIL in the post-match press conference.
