3.) MVP (c) vs. Mustafa Ali [United States Championship]

Last week on WWE Raw, Mustafa Ali returned to partake in a six-man tag team match alongside 2 Fly Crew to defeat Hurt Business, which consists of MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley. In that match, he pinned the self-declared United States Champion, MVP. According to WWE’s booking logic, this means that Ali is owed a United States Championship opportunity.

If Ali is granted this opportunity, he should win the championship to fill the void in the mid-card division due to the absence of Apollo Crews. Although this would be Ali’s first well-deserved main roster championship, it would, unfortunately, be a transitional reign since the original plan was for Apollo Crews to potentially drop the championship to Bobby Lashley at WWE SummerSlam 2020.

Henceforth, if that was indeed the original plan all along, Ali will very likely take Crews’ spot as United States Champion and drop the championship to Lashley at SummerSlam. While Ali focuses on dethroning MVP, Lashley should continue his momentum in a series of grudge matches leading up to the biggest event of the summer.

Since Lashley already defeated Ricochet twice in grudge matches, he can switch things up and focus on defeating Cedric Alexander to build up that momentum for Ali.
