Kairi Sane was written off Raw, but she could still have a future in WWE.

There is no doubt that Kairi Sane has been one of the most beloved wrestlers in WWE by both the fans and those who have crossed paths with her in the ring and backstage. The former NXT Women’s Champion and Overall Competitor of the Year is a special talent whose overall body of work in the ring is indeed legendary.

That’s why many fans are sad to see that she will no longer be wrestling on weekly television in WWE. She was written off of the July 27 episode of Raw as part of an angle designed to further the rivalry between Asuka and Sasha Banks.

Now, Kairi Sane is headed back to Japan, and fans are wondering what’s next for her.

In a thorough video breakdown on his YouTube channel, Sportskeeda reporter Tom Colohue combed through other reporting and his own sources to describe, in detail, what’s led to this moment and what could be next for Sane.

The most interesting nugget is WWE’s desire to have her work with the NXT Japan brand, which would have already launched this year if it weren’t for COVID-19. Based on Colohue’s reporting in the video, once it is safe, NXT Japan will be the next venture for the company in their quest to globalize the brand.

Sane is a big name wrestler who could be a huge building block for the brand both in the ring and as someone who can develop other talent, which Colohue mentions as a possible role for the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Per Colohue, Sane has an offer to join NXT Japan that is still on the table, and people within WWE are “confident” she will eventually sign it once they iron out the details. The deal is said to be “pretty lucrative” and would include her potentially wrestling. But if she signs it, she would not be able to wrestle anywhere else outside WWE.

Wrestling fans would love to see Kairi Sane back in the ring if that is what she wants to do, and she could have a huge influence on the next generation of talent in a coaching role, too. Everyone speaks highly of Sane’s character, just as much as they sing her praises as a wrestler.
