Randy Orton is scheduled to battle Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2020.

Randy Orton, the Legend Killer and Apex Predator, has decimated three key legends in the past two months: Edge, Christian, and Big Show. Now that all of the legends are gone from the red brand, he now has an ambition to surpass the impact of The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin’s ‘legacies’ and fulfill the ‘evolution’ of his character by targeting the WWE Championship.

At the biggest event of the summer, Orton seeks to eviscerate Drew McIntyre before McIntyre could even become a legend in his own right. With that being said, the following will provide three reasons why Randy Orton will purportedly defeat Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam 2020 to become a ten-time WWE Champion.

3.) Randy Orton is the top heel on Raw and is thereby the ideal opponent to dethrone the top babyface in Drew McIntyre.

Drew McIntyre has been booked as the top babyface on Monday Night Raw. If he loses the WWE Championship to anyone in the locker room, he must lose the championship to the top heel. Since Randy Orton is the top heel, booking anyone else to end McIntyre’s reign would detrimentally affect McIntyre’s momentum and credibility as WWE Champion.

The only two options for WWE Champion are Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton. Either can carry the red brand on his back and assure that it’s a must-see show. However, Orton has the ‘edge’ because his heel run has been superior to McIntyre’s title reign and would lose its momentum and credibility if he were to lose to McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam 2020.
