Matt Riddle vs. King Corbin [Grudge Match]

At WWE Survivor Series 2019, King Corbin eliminated Matt Riddle from Team NXT. At WWE Royal Rumble 2020, Corbin eliminated Riddle from the Royal Rumble. It should be to no one’s surprise that Riddle’s first rivalry on the main roster is against Corbin. Shorty G’s abrupt heel turn and involvement in this storyline are peculiar, and the rumored call-ups of Danny Burch and Killian Dain to join Corbin on SmackDown is even more befuddling.

It seemed as if this match between Riddle and Corbin would be scheduled for WWE SummerSlam 2020, but so many other superstars are randomly tossed into this rivalry. Maybe the WWE will book Team Riddle vs. Team Corbin? Whether Riddle is on his own or with his allies, such as Drew Gulak, Daniel Bryan, and Jeff Hardy, Riddle will finally get his babyface comeuppance against Corbin so he’s the safe bet here.

Prediction: Matt Riddle

Seth Rollins vs. Dominick Mysterio [Grudge Match]

After the impious Seth Rollins defeated Rey Mysterio in an ‘eye for an eye’ match, it was evident that Dominick Mysterio would attempt to get his revenge on his father’s behalf by battling Rollins in his first-ever match at WWE SummerSlam 2020. This match is already official, but the outcome is actually not as predictable as it may seem. Will Dominick Mysterio actually defeat the almighty Seth Rollins on his first ever match? Or will he lose his debut match?

If the former happens, WWE would risk over-pushing Dominick who could easily be perceived as a superstar who receives special treatment because of his lineage. If he does win, it should be a fluky finish (i.e. small package or distraction from Rey Mysterio) and nothing more. However, since Dominick is still green, Rollins will not lose to Dominick. Rollins will instead add him to his faction for an effective heel turn and risible swerve.

Prediction: Seth Rollins
