Imperium (c) vs. Undisputed Era vs. Legado del Fantasma for the NXT Tag Team Championship

The team of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel (representing Imperium) retained their titles against Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly (representing Undisputed Era) last night after the whole Cole-McAfee angle began. I can easily see UE securing a rematch from General Manager William Regal once they broach the topic.

Where does Legado del Fantasma (LDF) come into play, then?

As they’ve recently been targeting Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango), Wilde and Mendoza should face Breezango next week on NXT to settle the score. LDF secure the victory, using that as the impetus to have Regal add them to the Tag Team Championship match at NXT TakeOver XXX. I’m not the biggest fan of multi-team matches, but this one has the makings of a furiously-paced match.

It’s difficult to accurately judge Imperium’s reign as Tag Team Champions because it came right on the heels of the pandemic, but I think it’s safe to say it has been tepid at best. I hate to say that because I appreciate both Aichner and Barthel, but it just hasn’t seemed like they’ve been put into positions to elevate themselves and the title.

UE has long been a mainstay in the Tag Team Championship picture, and sometimes it feels weird not seeing them with the gold around their waists. Admittedly, part of this is me just wanting to see O’Reilly belt-guitar his way down the ramp. I don’t think they need a victory here, though.

Still, this should be a fun and action-packed match; don’t be shocked if they only go about nine minutes, but pack it with about 15 minutes’ worth of action.

Prediction: Legado del Fantasma capture the Tag Team Championship by pinning Aichner
