WWE: 6 superstars who could win the battle royal to challenge Bayley at SummerSlam

The first potential challenger is none other than “The EST of WWE” Bianca Belair. Despite proving herself in NXT as one of the most powerful and impressive women in the division, Belair has yet to hold championship gold in WWE.

There’s no doubt Belair should be a former NXT Women’s Champion, but that ship has sailed and she’s moved on to the main roster. Struggling to find a way to the Raw Women’s Championship, Belair has the chance to change that in this battle royal.

We’ve only ever seen Bayley and Bianca Belair in the same ring one time in the past, and that was during the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34. We’ve never seen them square off in a one-on-one match, making this a first-ever dream match that would be perfect for the stage that is SummerSlam.

Shayna Baszler

Another potential challenger from WWE Raw would be Shayna Baszler, who made her presence felt on the main roster with a dominant win back at Elimination Chamber 2020. Unfortunately, Baszler was unable to translate that dominance into WrestleMania 36 where she failed to defeat Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship.

This past week, we also saw Baszler’s willingness to target The Golden Role Models by delivering a stiff right hand to Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks while backstage. Of course, with a win in the battle royal Baszler could shift her focus to someone she’s already beaten once before.

Bayley and Shayna Baszler have squared off one other time, in the main event of Survivor Series 2019. In a triple threat, the reigning women’s champions of each brand fought for supremacy, and in the end, it was NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler who choked out SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. Could we see history repeat itself?
