WWE SummerSlam 2020: 3 reasons why Dominik Mysterio should win
By Kyla Hessler
Dominik must put an end to the Monday Night Messiah’s mystique.
It’s important for Dominik to beat Seth solely to put an end to the Monday Night Messiah’s mystique. While this role switch was certainly unique (and needed) for Rollins since it provided his character with more depth, it feels as if the character got old rather quickly.
This can be because Rollins’ character role is a heel, which is generally a role that few fans love or support. This makes it nearly impossible to grow an attachment to Rollins, because the majority of fans are probably praying for his downfall.
While Seth was able to round up two disciples in Murphy, and Austin Theory (for a short time), the Massiah doesn’t seem to have as strong of a grasp on Monday Night Raw, as he likes to give off. In fact, it seems as though the majority of the roster, and even the commentators aren’t very fond of the Monday Night Messiah’s antics, which was most recently displayed with Samoa Joe standing up for his broadcast partner Tom Phillips, and even Dominik Mysterio during the SummerSlam contract signing.
If Dominik is able to come out victorious against Seth on August 23, 2020, at SummerSlam, this win will definitely win him points in the locker room. Mysterio will receive praise for being victorious in his debut match at a pay-per-view, and he will be applauded for finally shutting up the Monday Night Messiah.
Mysterio beating Seth is also an excellent way to blow off the Mysterios vs. Messiah storyline, and provides the WWE with a perfect opportunity to re-route Rollins and Murphy down a new path. Maybe even give Rollins a character end, which could provide him with some well needed and well deserved off time to go be at home with his real-life pregnant fiancée, Becky Lynch.
Dominik Mysterio really does need this win at WWE SummerSlam 2020. He must win for himself and his career, to defend his father and their family name, and because he deserves to be the one to put an end to the Monday Night Messiah. Great things are destined to come from Dominik and this match, but the real question is who do you have your money on?
