NXT TakeOver XXX Predictions: Keith Lee Will Bask In His Demise

As mentioned earlier, Dakota Kai defeated Rhea Ripley to become the number one contender for Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s Championship. While it would be splendid and rewarding for Kai to solidify her heel turn by winning the NXT Women’s Championship, her momentum has clearly lacked continuity over the past few months.

This lack of continuity not only ruins her chances at winning the title but also shows her lack of credibility as number one contender. Henceforth, Io Shirai is the safe bet to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Her reign just began in June and is still far from over. There is still more to digest from Shirai’s character development as well as her ability to elevate the women’s division.

Keith Lee (c) vs. Karrion Kross [NXT Championship]

Bask in his glory? No, Keith Lee could have been basking in his demise when he was hit with that fireball on last week’s NXT. Despite his impeccable reign as NXT Champion, his fate will be similar at NXT TakeOver XXX once he loses the NXT Championship to Karrion Kross. Although this may seem like a short-term loss after a short-lived title reign, it will actually be a long-term gain.

While Kross will continue his dominance as the new NXT Champion and prove his main event status in NXT in a revisited feud with Adam Cole after SummerSlam, Lee will move on to bigger and better things on the main roster. He has already done everything possible in NXT, and he has that main roster appeal to become the next world champion and future of the WWE.
