WWE SummerSlam 2020: 3 possible upsets at the PPV
WWE SummerSlam 2020 will take place this Sunday. Which match outcomes could end up being the most surprising?
Nearly all the big title matches are set for WWE SummerSlam 2020. Asuka will be pulling double duty by facing both women’s champions, Braun Strowman will continue his rivalry with Bray Wyatt, and Drew McIntyre will face his toughest challenge yet against Randy Orton.
Per 411Mania.com’s Jeffrey Harris, the latest odds for SummerSlam are in. Using those, here are three matches where the underdog stands a real chance of winning.
Sasha Banks vs. Asuka
Most fans expect Asuka to beat Sasha Banks but not Bayley at WWE SummerSlam 2020, but our Patches Chance sees it differently. He outlined a possible scenario in which Bayley challenges Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship in the future, with Asuka winning the SmackDown Women’s Championship and progressing to WrestleMania.
Asuka is the favorite to win this match, but Sasha Banks has already beaten her in an unexpected spot to become champion. Instead, Asuka could get direct revenge on Bayley for the latter’s heinous backstage attack on Kairi Sane, which is what cost the Empress of Tomorrow her title in the first place.
The Street Profits vs. Andrade and Angel Garza
On this week’s episode of Raw, the truth was revealed, as Angelo Dawkins, with the apparent help of Samoa Joe, released footage of Zelina Vega preparing a poisonous concoction to take out Montez Ford. Nobody was surprised by this, though Andrade clearly wasn’t informed by Zelina…
Interestingly enough, Andrade and Garza are listed as the favorites to win the Raw Tag Team Championships, but I just don’t see it happening. The Street Profits are at the top of their game and form the bedrock of the Raw Tag Team Division. After Zelina’s actions, I just can’t see Dawkins and Ford losing the titles.
Seth Rollins vs. Dominik Mysterio
I’m not bold enough to predict Dominik Mysterio beats Seth Rollins cleanly, but I think Rollins could actually lose despite his star status. Dominik has allies who can help him in this match. Aside from his father Rey Mysterio, he has one legendary wrestler who can be his secret weapon at WWE SummerSlam 2020. Samoa Joe.

Clearly, WWE are plotting something with Joe. MVP hinted that Joe is returning from his injury soon, and Joe has been verbally sparring with Rollins from his role on commentary. So this feud could be starting soon, and having Joe interfere to cost Rollins would be one hell of a way to start this rivalry up.
