WWE: Bayley already has the next tag title opponents picked out

Bayley and Sasha Banks will defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles at WWE Payback, but will they make it out with the titles?

The future of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships is up in the air. On the most recent episode of SmackDown, Sasha and Bayley were clearly not on the same page after Banks lost two Raw Women’s Title matches to Asuka. Banks even refer to the titles as “my” titles, while Bayley took a shot at Banks for not having a good record of retaining the Raw Women’s Title.

But on Sunday at Payback, Bayley and Banks will be defending the Women’s Tag Titles against a newly-formed tag team that has issues of their own. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax insulted each other again on the most recent episode of SmackDown when they interrupted Sasha and Bayley, with Shayna even saying that Nia “sucks”.

So there’s a very real chance Bayley and Banks walk out of Payback as *still* your Women’s Tag Team Champions.

And Bayley already has eyes on who they could face next.

Bayley calls out the Riott Squad and the IIconics

Late on Saturday night before the Pay Per View, as is customary, WWE announced a kick-off match between the IIconics and the Riott Squad, who are, shall we say, familiar opponents.

Ever since Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan reunited on the Kevin Owens show, WWE fans have been excited for one of the company’s few true babyface tag teams to take the titles off the broken-up Sasha Banks and Bayley.

That could still happen, and it could happen on a future episode of Raw, with Liv and Ruby winning and serving as the last domino for the Sasha and Bayley rivalry for the coveted SmackDown Women’s Championship.

As you can see, Bayley has already called her shot. Nia and Shayna could very well win the tag titles and then feud with Riott and Morgan, but I like the chances of Sasha and Bayley retaining by the skin of their teeth, only to lose it to the Riott Squad.
