WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 will take place on Nov. 1. Which matches will take place inside the cell?

Although Hell in a Cell is a Halloween-themed Pay Per View, WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 is set to take place on the day after Halloween. There are plenty of debates among fans about the merits of continuing the Hell in a Cell-themed PPV, as last year’s main event finish did not go over well.

This year’s HIAC should feature some exciting matches and could even take place after a draft, depending on how WWE plans things. It feels like there’s a lot more interest in the product now that Roman Reigns has returned, and he’ll have a big role to play at the show after capturing the Universal Title at Payback.

According to Tom Colohue in his SmackDown preview, via Sportskeeda.com’s Divesh Merani, Reigns isn’t set to compete in one of the two Hell in a Cell matches planned for the show. Colohue says that there will be one men’s match and one women’s match.

Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton expected inside the cell

Per Colohue, the men’s Hell in a Cell match on Nov. 1 will be contested for the WWE Championship, as Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton will square off. Orton and McIntyre had their first match at SummerSlam, in which McIntyre retained via roll-up. Their feud is expected to continue into November, so WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 could be a pivotal date in their story.

McIntyre could hold the title into 2021, but he’s expected to drop the belt to Orton, who has become Raw’s top heel. There are more possible feuds for Orton into WrestleMania season next year, such as one against a returning Edge or even a renewed rivalry with the man who defeated him at Payback, Keith Lee.

Either way, Orton vs. McIntyre inside Hell in a Cell could be a title match to remember, and it’s even possible Orton is the one who heads into the PPV with the WWE Title around his waist. After all, he’s earned himself another shot at McIntyre’s championship on Sept. 27 at Clash of Champions.
