Becky Lynch and The Rock, October 4, 2019

From the 2019 Royal Rumble to Money in the Bank 2020, Becky Lynch was the top star in WWE. The Raw Women’s Champion at the time of this segment, Becky had already shared a tag team victory and upstaged John Cena on the mic on SmackDown before graciously sharing the ring with another Hollywood star and pro wrestling icon, The Rock.

Not only was it awesome to see The Rock on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX, but it was awesome seeing two icons in Becky and The Rock working together to take down one of the most hated heels in wrestling, King Corbin.

Becky and The Rock eviscerated Corbin verbally and physically. We got a couple of great lines from Lynch, such as using Rock’s “It doesn’t matter what you think!” catchphrase and coming up with the “Super Tough Dude” (STD) acronym for the crowd to chant at the former Money in the Bank “winner”.

And after working together on the mic, Lynch and The Rock worked together to throw some punches at Corbin. Becky hit Corbin with a leg drop, Rock hit his trademark People’s Elbow, and they posed together at the end, Becky with her Raw Women’s Title in hand.

Lynch wasn’t a part of the Blue Brand at the time, but as a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion (the brand’s first champion), it was only fitting for her to appear on the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.
