A Tag Title Unification Match

Survivor Series has come early for the WWE Men’s Tag Team Division. The Women’s Tag Titles are already fought among all three brands, but the Men’s Tag Titles are still separated by brand. But since Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro showed up on Raw to face the Street Profits in their quest for premium competition, it seems like we could be headed the route of having unified tag titles.

That seems to be best for WWE. Fans have wondered if WWE would go this route for about a year now, and it’s becoming clear that having the same match over and over again (Street Profits vs. Viking Raiders, anyone?) isn’t best for anyone. Fresh matchups are the name of the game, especially in tag team wrestling.

Nakamura and Cesaro vs. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins was excellent on this week’s Raw, and the four men involved are capable of stealing the show at WWE Clash of Champions 2020. A high-stakes unification match would add to the buzz.

All titles must be defended, and a champions vs. champions match for the tag titles is a cop-out. But a unification match? Now that feels like everything is on the line, and it could be the stipulation that coaxes a classic out of these two excellent tag teams.
