Roman Reigns has picked out the best possible NXT dream feud
There’s nothing like watching one of the best in the business face an up-and-coming star from WWE NXT, and Roman Reigns has an ideal feud in mind.
Roman Reigns’ return to WWE has lit a fire under Friday Night SmackDown, which has been the most engaging weekly wrestling show since the Big Dog won the Universal Title at Payback. Whereas Raw has been woeful and NXT has been more “miss” than “hit”, the Blue Brand has been consistently strong, with Reigns playing a starring role.
Earlier this year, WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangoor reported that Randy Orton was “campaigning” behind the scenes to have matches with stars from NXT. It’s always awesome to see big stars like Orton feuding with up-and-coming stars.
But who would Reigns, the biggest male star of them all, like to face on the Black and Gold brand? Well, none other than arguably the biggest male star in NXT who hasn’t already been on the “main roster” yet.

I think that “really good reaction” is still an understatement. Reigns and Cole would blow the roof off the place with fans in attendance in the future, as so many fans would be cheering for one or the other.
Cole was an excellent heel as the leader of the Undisputed Era in NXT, holding the NXT Championship for a record amount of time. But now that he’s lost the title, Cole appears to be transitioning into a new babyface character, which may ultimately lead to the most upside on the “main roster” due to his built-up popularity among fans.

A hit since joining NXT who has fulfilled his prophecy, Cole is the best possible dream opponent from NXT for Roman Reigns out of anyone. Guys like Johnny Gargano, Bronson Reed, and Jake Atlas could have great matches with Reigns on Raw or SmackDown one day, but Cole vs. Reigns is the biggest dream match right now.
