The two are set to resume their summer feud at WWE Clash of Champions 2020, and their fifth match in this series could end in a number of ways.

By virtue of her besting Alexa Bliss, Lacey Evans, and Tamina in a Number One Contender’s Fatal 4-Way match, Nikki Cross has earned yet another crack at Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship, with the match scheduled for Sept. 27’s WWE Clash of Champions 2020: Gold Rush pay-per-view.

While some see Cross getting her third title shot this year against Bayley as an indictment of how thin the SmackDown women’s roster is on the babyface side, going back to this pairing was a smart move for WWE.

With Bayley fresh off of pulverizing her former best friend, Sasha Banks, matching her up with Cross gives her an outstanding babyface to play off of on the mic and in the ring to further establish her as a sinister heel while WWE saves the grudge match with Banks for a more prestigious show.

Additionally, Bayley vs. Cross: Part V brings two of the company’s more compelling storylines to the fore: the aforementioned impending blood feud between Bayley and Banks and Cross trying to keep Bliss — her friend and tag team partner — from succumbing to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.

Given the storylines surrounding this match, Vince McMahon and his creative team could go in a number of directions with the finish to this one. These are three possible outcomes.
