Universal Championship Match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Otis

As for the Universal Championship, “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns proved exactly what he’s willing to do to make a statement at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 when he destroyed Jey Uso. The clash went so far that Jey’s brother Jimmy Uso made his way to the ring, despite a knee injury, and ultimately threw in the towel for Jey before rushing to cover and protect his brother from the assault of Roman Reigns.

While we could see a new challenger arrive through the 2020 WWE Draft, it’s also important to remember a dark horse on the brand. Otis is still Mr. Money in the Bank, and he’s facing serious issues as The Miz seems to be gearing up for a baseless legal challenge to try and steal that contract from him.

Should Otis feel overwhelmed by this legal threat, and the potential financial burden of it, he could always take drastic action and cash in his contract before The Miz can successfully take it away. Otis could do what only a handful of Money in the Bank winners have done and cash in the contract in advance, scheduling a title shot at WWE Hell in a Cell and making sure he doesn’t have to hold onto it any longer and risk The Miz taking it away from him.

Of course, the chances of Otis actually defeating Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship are even lower than the chances that Jey Uso was going to defeat him at Clash of Champions. Despite that, it would be a big moment for Otis as a babyface to face the thunder and stand up to Roman Reigns, even in a losing effort.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Hell in a Cell Match: Bayley (c) vs. Sasha Banks

Finally, we have the rightful main event of WWE Hell in a Cell 2020. While some, me included, still hope to see these two square off on a stage like WrestleMania 37, this potential matchup actually has the capability of paving the road to that eventual collision.

Despite clear signs of a neck injury, Sasha Banks showed up at WWE Clash of Champions 2020 with a steel chair in hand to attack Bayley and seek revenge for her former best friend’s vicious betrayal. Banks could find herself suddenly separated from Bayley during the 2020 WWE Draft, but because of the history between these two, we could see this match made as soon as this Friday on SmackDown.

Not only would that set the stage for an epic main event Hell in a Cell Match between Sasha Banks and Bayley, but it would leave Banks only this one opportunity to exact revenge and take the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Should Banks lose, she’d find herself moved to Raw and Bayley would be out of her reach.

In this potential clash, we could see Bayley continue to target the already injured neck of Banks, and it might just be enough to help her secure the win and keep the SmackDown Women’s Championship. This would ultimately leave Banks on WWE Raw, frustrated and recovering as the 2021 Royal Rumble looms in the distance as a future path to going back after Bayley at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
