Daniel Bryan didn’t get a rematch against Sami Zayn, after losing to him at WrestleMania 36.

The leader of the ‘Yes Movement’ has not been on SmackDown for months but before his hiatus, he was in contention for the Intercontinental Championship and could pick up where he left off.

Zayn and Daniel Bryan had a heated feud, at the beginning of the year, that culminated in the former retaining the title – with help from Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura on the Grandest Stage of them All. These two have a recent history together but they also have past issues – stemming from when Bryan was SmackDown General Manager and Zayn, along with Kevin Owens, made his life hell. Bryan’s first match, after retiring, was against the aforementioned duo (he teamed with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania 34).

As the Zayn victory wasn’t clean, at WrestleMania 36, Bryan has plenty of reasons to go after the title and attempt to get revenge against his old adversary. Every rivalry needs a certain amount of heat behind it, to keep fans invested, and these two have plenty of that.

Zayn and Bryan make magic together, their match in March was one of the best on the card, the backstory is there. A series of matches would be brilliant – if they feuded between now and the rest of 2020, the WWE Universe would not complain.
