2. Dakota Kai would be a great WWE Draft call-up to SmackDown

Although Bayley and Sasha Banks’ rivalry has been red-hot on SmackDown, the show’s overall women’s roster is lacking depth, especially when compared to Raw and NXT, respectively. Naomi, Nikki Cross, Carmella, and Alexa Bliss are just a few names that SmackDown could very well be without by next week. By picking a name from NXT’s stacked women’s roster, SmackDown can replenish their ranks. Enter Dakota Kai.

Dakota Kai has been a mainstay on NXT for three years and up until recently, mostly played the underdog role against the likes of Shayna Baszler. Kai’s betrayal of friend and tag partner Tegan Nox kickstarted her surge to public enemy #1 among the NXT women, culminating in a TakeOver 30 loss to Io Shirai for the NXT Women’s Championship.

The events of TakeOver 31 seem to not bode well for Kai’s chances at getting another title opportunity as Toni Storm and Ember Moon appear to be at the front of the line for a crack at Shirai. With Kai’s window of opportunity thinning, going to SmackDown in the 2020 WWE Draft would benefit her and the brand overall.

Raquel Gonzalez could very well also join Kai on SmackDown, as that would be a reasonable depth play for the women’s tag team division.
