WWE Hell in a Cell 2020: The perfect stipulation for Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso
Roman Reigns and Jey Uso will have a match inside the cell at WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 later this month, but there will also be another stipulation.
At WWE Hell in a Cell 2020, Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship one more time against Jey Uso after granting his cousin another shot at the title in a promo on Friday Night SmackDown after his successful defense in the main event of Clash of Champions.
The match will take place inside the cell, but that’s not the only stipulation that will occur in this Universal Title match. Reigns told Jey on the Oct. 9 draft day episode of Friday Night SmackDown that he will make this match at Hell in a Cell an “I Quit” match.
It’s the perfect stipulation for this rivalry. Not just because it’ll add to the emotions and brutality of the cell match on Oct. 25, but there’s also the element of Jey verbalized Reigns’ superiority by saying the words “I Quit” to lose.
Recall that he lost at Clash of Champions when Jimmy Uso threw in the towel, and it got to that point because Jey refused to lose. Reigns would have ended the immense amount of punishment if Jey simply declared Roman his “Tribal Chief”, but the honor in him prevented Jey from making such a statement to boost Reigns’ ego.
Roman Reigns has promised consequences for Jey Uso at WWE Hell in a Cell
Imagine the consequences – the word Reigns keeps using – if Jey does not say “I Quit”. Like at Clas of Champions, failing to utter these words will lead to the prolonging of the match, but the punishment will be ten-fold.
And this is both because of the additional damage allowed inside the cell, but also because Reigns will be that much more irate and explosive in a second match with Jey. He already gave Jey a chance, in his mind, at Clash, so even less quarter, if that’s imaginable, will be spared at WWE Hell in a Cell.
As we saw last month, this is the most heated rivalry in WWE right now, and an “I Quit” match is the perfect way to add just a little bit of extra heat.
