WWE SmackDown: 5 bold predictions after the 2020 draft
Bianca Belair will be WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion by SummerSlam
If WrestleMania is a long way off, then next year’s SummerSlam is a looooooong way off, and who knows what the landscape of WWE will look like by then?
I do know one thing, though. Bianca Belair is one of the most talented wrestlers in WWE and is ready to lead this division before long.
To be honest, I could see Belair winning the championship before WrestleMania. She’s a legit sleeper to win the Royal Rumble after the incredible performance she put in during this year’s Rumble match.
Belair was a second-round pick on Night 1, taken ninth overall by SmackDown. That means the Blue Brand sees huge potential in her, as Sasha Banks and Bayley were the only women taken ahead of Bianca on either night. So basically, Belair is already ranked third on the SmackDown Women’s Roster in terms of overall value.
I’m not sure when the Bayley vs. Sasha Banks feud will end, but I am sure that the EST of WWE will be champion by SummerSlam. Of course, I’ve been wrong before, but I really think WWE will get it together in 2021.
BayMella will return on WWE SmackDown
I noticed that Bayley and Carmella remain on the same brand, and we haven’t gotten a proper “BayMella” reunion after their brief feud earlier in 2020.
Both women are heels now. Bayley is still in her amazing Golden Role Model persona, and that character is unlikely to change significantly by the next draft. And the same goes for Carmella’s new gimmick, which seems more heelish than her first character on SmackDown.
Maybe it’s “too soon” to see Bayley tagging with someone else, but we need all the women’s tag teams we can get as we head into 2021.
I think after Bayley’s feud with Sasha ends and she drops the title, she’ll head to the tag title scene like Alexa Bliss did and form a compelling duo with a familiar friend from NXT.
