WWE NXT Halloween Havoc: 3 wrestlers who need to win
Rhea Ripley
It’s the battle of the giants!
The buildup to Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Gonzalez has been a hit-and-miss affair, to say the least. I don’t think anybody’s super hyped to see these two women go at it, but we don’t mind it either. It will be interesting to see what NXT does in this match.
While Raquel Gonzalez has not done anything to prove she’s good between the ropes yet, she has comfortably settled in the role of a bodyguard for Dakota Kai and is now becoming her own person. While the prime focus should definitely be on Kai, it’s good to see Gonzalez getting a chance to prove she can hang in the best women’s division in the world.
This is a huge match for Gonzalez, she’s going up against a woman who’s potentially going to be a huge star in the future, she needs to prove that she can hang with the best. This match, if planned out well, can make Raquel Gonzalez a force to be reckoned with, and along with Kai, she can be a major player in the Women’s division.
However this match plays out, one thing’s for sure, Rhea Ripley has to win.
Everyone can see bright things in Ripley’s future and she was ready to take women’s wrestling by storm when she dethroned Shayna Baszler to take the NXT Women’s Championship from her, but all her momentum was stopped short when she tapped out to Charlotte Flair at Wrestlemania. If Ripley had beaten Charlotte to win the belt back it would still have been fine, but we got Charlotte parading the most prestigious prize in women’s wrestling across all three shows and the title lost its sheen.
There’s only one way to right this.
Ripley can’t afford to lose to someone as green as Gonzalez, in fact, she can’t afford to lose to anyone right now. She needs to beat Gonzalez and then leave NXT altogether because there’s nothing left for her there.
She needs to debut on RAW and get right into it with Charlotte Flair. She’ll give the RAW women’s division a much-needed boost. She can finally beat Charlotte Flair and become the huge star she was always meant to be.
