Jeff Hardy vs. Elias

Result: Elias wins by DQ

Grade: D, We knew this would be a “break” match after the incredible, heated opener between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso. But a DQ? Well, at least Elias didn’t lose.

Elias sang on the kick-off show and before the Jeff Hardy match, lending us his musical talents twice on the night before his album’s release. What an entertainer.

Hardy had an early advantage, going right after the man who has been making his life miserable in an effort to boost his own stock on Monday nights. Whenever Elias tried to use his size to ground Hardy, the veteran competitor would use his superior grappling skills to win back the advantage. But of course, the heel got on top and started going for quick pinfalls.

Feeding off the energy of the crowd, Hardy went for the Twist of Fate, but he got caught and hit with a powerbomb for a two-count. The match was picking up.

Hardy was able to hit the Twist of Fate shortly afterward and just as he was going for the Swanton Bomb, Elias slowly rolled outside the ring. Hardy saw that Elias had brought out the guitar for a cheap hit, and he used the guitar himself out of frustration!

And Elias picked up the win as a result!
