WWE Royal Rumble 2021 Predictions: Who Will Win The Royal Rumble?
By Mark Justice
WWE Royal Rumble 2021 will take place on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT live on the WWE Network.
WWE Royal Rumble 2021! Thanks to its huge implications for WrestleMania 37, this PPV tends to be the most exciting PPV of the year. On top of that, the fans enjoy seeing returning superstars make surprise entrances and hurl each other over the top rope. However, at the end of the day, the Royal Rumble’s goal is to give the fans a general idea of who will main event the show of shows, which begs the question: Who Will Win The Royal Rumbles?.
Women’s Royal Rumble
If one of the Raw superstars wins the Royal Rumble, it will be Alexa Bliss. Her new character change with The Fiend and breakaway from Nikki Cross will evetually lead her back into singles competition, where she will be pushed as a main event star again. Henceforth, it wouldn’t be surprising if she made her way back into the Raw Women’s Championship picture by winning her first Royal Rumble and challenging Asuka at WrestleMania 37.
Despite the reported rumor of Asuka vs. Nia Jax being the main event of WrestleMania 37, it is unforeseeable that Jax would actually win the Royal Rumble. Since Jax is part of a tag team with Shayna Baszler, it would make more sense for her to battle Asuka in a triple threat match with Baszler. Nonetheless, this match is not Mania-worthy and Asuka vs. Alexa Bliss is far more appealing, especially after Bliss’ new character change with The Fiend..
If one of the SmackDown superstars wins the Royal Rumble, it will be Bayley. Her feud with Banks is far from over, and she will make her way back into the title picture, come Mania season. Our Raphael Garcia argued that Sasha Banks vs. Bayley should wait till WrestleMania. It is still possible for these two superstars to have one more match in the main event of WrestleMania 37 to put an end to their feud on a memorable stage, instead of SmackDown.
The fans would feel robbed of the long awaited feud between Banks and Bayley, if it did not come to a close at WrestleMania. While Banks is busy retaining her championship, Bayley merely needs to regain her momentum from her two losses to Banks and win her first Royal Rumble in order to battle her one more time. This feud did not main event WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 and did not main event the SmackDown afterwards. It needs to unquestionably main event WrestleMania 37.
Raw Prediction: Alexa Bliss
SmackDown Prediction: Bayley
Men’s Royal Rumble
If one of the Raw superstars wins the Royal Rumble, it will be ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt. Imagine both Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss winning the Royal Rumbles? Sounds like something WWE would do, right? Indeed, it wouldn’t be surprising if Wyatt continued his pursuit of Randy Orton’s WWE Championship or even get his ‘payback’ against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship by winning his first Royal Rumble and challenging either superstar at WrestleMania 37.
Wyatt could go either way with this. Reigns did win the Universal Championship from Wyatt at WWE Payback 2020 and Wyatt never got his rematch. Wyatt and Bliss even stared at Reigns in a vindictive manner, showing that they still have unfinished business. Meanwhile, Wyatt has already teased a future feud with Orton on Raw recently in what seems to be payback from when Orton took the WWE Championship from him at WrestleMania 33 three years ago.
If one of the SmackDown superstars wins the Royal Rumble, it will be Big E, who is actually the current betting favorite. Big E was separated from The New Day to be specifically pushed as a singles star and main event player on SmackDown. The WWE must deliver on that by featuring him more on the show, booking him in more matches and segments, and allowing him to showcase his true self so that he can connect with the fans on a deeper level.
While Big E could make his way to Raw to reunite with the Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to battle for the WWE Championship, it makes more sense for him to go to war with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns on SmackDown. Since Reigns is the top heel, it only makes sense that the top babyface in Big E wins the Rumble to make his way to the Universal Championship. Kingston’s title win at Mania 35 was not enough. The WWE fans need more of this.
Raw Prediction: ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt
SmackDown Prediction: Big E
