NXT TakeOver WarGames 2020 is just over a week away, and much of the card has shaped up, but who else will join the fight and who is poised to win?

We’re just a little over a week away from NXT TakeOver WarGames 2020, and this will be the fourth annual installment since the event became a staple of NXT following 2017’s inaugural NXT TakeOver WarGames in Houston. The main event of that night was the eponymous WarGames Match that saw The Undisputed Era vanquish two other teams of three to emerge victorious.

Despite coming up short the last two years, The Undisputed Era are by far the most experienced competitors in WarGames, as they’re now heading into their fourth WarGames Match in four years. Meanwhile, the personal rivalry between Candice LeRae and Shotzi Blackheart has reached a boiling point that’s set the stage for their own WarGames Match.

Two other matches have also been confirmed, and one seems primed for WWE to put it in place for this top-notch event. Both of the night’s WarGames Matches will have a tough legacy to follow, but they look as if they’ll be packed with exactly the talent needed to do so.

With most of the brand’s champions tangled into the web of WarGames, it looks like we’re only going to have one championship match on the night. Without further ado, let’s see how the card looks for NXT TakeOver WarGames 2020 and who is poised to seize victory.

NXT North American Championship Triple Threat Match: Leon Ruff (c) vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Damian Priest

This match was confirmed on the most recent episode of WWE NXT, but the pieces have been in place since Leon Ruff’s shocking dethroning of Johnny Gargano for the NXT North American Championship. Since then, Ruff has aimed to prove himself as more than a fluke champion, and now he’s got his chance.

This is a huge match for Leon Ruff, despite his perhaps appearing to some as just a pawn in the next chapter between Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest. While Gargano or Priest pinning Ruff here might seem like the obvious choice, I’m predicting Ruff to beat the odds and retain, further cementing himself as a new key underdog babyface in NXT.

Prediction: Leon Ruff
