As of yet, Edge remains undrafted, so despite being on Raw prior to his injury, we could see him return to the blue brand he helped build to what it is. This would open up a new possibility, spear vs spear, Edge vs Reigns, Universal title on the line.

Let’s say Drew keeps the WWE title off of Orton, Edge wins the rumble match, and Edge turns and chooses Reigns as his opponent. Reigns vs Edge would give us the veteran hero, looking for a last hoorah against the young and dominant champion Reigns.

Despite his return, we can’t get away from the fact that his career is on a short timer, rather than be a Ric Flair and not know when to call it a day we could see Edge do a Shawn Michaels (Ignore Saudi Arabia) and retire following a last attempt to dislodge The Tribal Chief from the blue throne, and failing.

Reigns is one of the better in-ring workers in the WWE and has the promo chops to go the rounds with Edge in promos, and he could put in both a good feud and a serviceable match to retire the Hall of Famer and certify himself as the top dog on Friday nights.

This match should be a classic singles match, allowing for every moment that Edge is being counted out on the outside of the ring a moment of tension, will Edge lose his final opportunity by count-out? Have him hopelessly toy with the idea of cheating to beat out Reigns, only for him to think better of it and fall to Reigns’ spear.

Following the departure of a victorious Reigns, have Edge announce his retirement from wrestling and thank the audience before departing for the final time.
