NXT TakeOver: WarGames is on Sunday with big feuds scheduled to cap off the show. These are five things that must happen to move the show forward beyond just the PPV.

NXT TakeOver War Games is coming to the WWE Network on Sunday. At the top of the card are two team battles set to take place in the War Games cage. At first glance, this card leaves much to be desired, but there are still things worth seeing during the show. This piece looks at five “things” that must occur during Sunday’s PPV to have the biggest impact and continue to move angles forward.

Heading into this week, there are only four matches scheduled for NXT TakeOver: WarGames. The Undisputed Era is poised to battle Pat McAfee’s group of himself, Pete Dunne, Danny Burch, and Oney Lorcan. Shotzi Blackheart leads a team consisting of Ember Moon, Rhea Ripley, and one other person against Candice LeRae’s team with Dakota Kai, Raquel Gonzalez, and Toni Storm. Leon Ruff defends his title in a triple threat against Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest. Then there is yet another battle between Dexter Lumis and Cameron Grimes.

This card must provide some finality to some of these angles that have drawn on for quite some time. One of the biggest complaints about WWE NXT is how it has slowly morphed into the same type of WWE content shown on Monday and Wednesday. This show could easily continue that narrative, but there is an opportunity to push back against the problem if some key moments occur during the event.
