Cameron Grimes must defeat Dexter Lumis clean

Cameron Grimes and Dexter Lumis are competing in a strap match. While it is good to see undercard feuds, this one should have ended in the Haunted House of Horrors match. Both Lumis and Grimes should be involved in other angles, but they are saddled in facing off again in their third gimmick match. This time, Grimes must go over clean to bring about an end to this feud.

Grimes has developed into an entertaining heel. Everyone knows that he can deliver in the ring, being able to put on excellent matches with anyone. But his character work as of late has been equally enjoyable. He would be a solid foil to either Balor or even Leon Ruff, if he makes it out of the title defense he has scheduled. Grimes should draw comparisons to another heel that fans love on the main roster, Sami Zayn. But to get there he needs a definitive win over Dexter Lumis and the opportunity to move into the NXT North American title picture in the same week.

Lumis does not have to go completely away, as he is also entertaining in his own fashion. He can continue to be used in the lower portion of the card in squash-type matches until new creative comes up for him. He is interesting enough of a character where he can be used at a moment’s notice without needing to pick up this win at NXT TakeOver: War Games. WWE has more than enough content space that they can find new ways to include Lumis that make sure he has value without getting his hand raised at this time.
