What a crazy year it has been for the wrestling world. Things have been changed forever as history was made in 2020. What can we expect from 2021?

At the beginning of the year, somebody could have said that the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega was going to be on Impact Wrestling and they would have been laughed at. There was no way to expect such a groundbreaking move to happen. It has been one of the craziest years for Impact Wrestling as they fight to stay relevant.

We have seen great Impact talents leave the company and new and old talents come in. Eric Young made his return to become the Impact World Champion while Heath Slater made his Impact debut. We lost The Rascalz, but we gained the reigning Impact Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers. Even the wildest predictions would have been hard to call this year.

Yet here we are looking for those home-run moments that have a possibility of happening. These are five bold predictions for Impact Wrestling in 2021.

5. Cardona and Myers Win Impact Tag Team Championships

Since being released from WWE earlier this year, the former Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder have been exploring new companies. Brian Myers returned to Impact Wrestling for the first time since a short run in 2015. Matt Cardona arrived in All Elite Wrestling to help out Cody earlier this year, but his time with AEW came to an end in September.

It is a good possibility that Cardona may make his way to Impact to join alongside his old partner. I believe that he would be a great fit in Impact Wrestling and good be much more than just a tag team star. He could easily be pushed to be a viable Impact World Champion in the future. Although, having Cardona and Myers win tag gold makes perfect sense.

Impact has a thriving tag team division with The Good Brothers on top of the card at the moment. It would be a treat to see Cardona and Myers reunite against a team like the Motor City Machine Guns. Cardona in Impact is something that many people have been calling for. If he does sign with them in 2021, expect the two to make a major impact.

4. Chris Jericho Debuts In Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling fans have been hoping to see Chris Jericho in the company as far back as 2005. When Chris Jericho first stepped away from WWE for a few years, many speculated if Jericho would join TNA like many others at the time. However, the closest Chris Jericho has ever been to Impact was when his band Fozzy was used for Impact’s 2006 Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

Now, fourteen years later, the idea of Chris Jericho debuting in Impact could become a reality again. So far it has only been Kenny Omega who has shown up on Impact.  Is there a chance that Chris Jericho could be the next to arrive? Jericho could be on the last run of his career so it is now or never for any involvement with Jericho and Impact Wrestling.

However, if they are to go any further with a working agreement, I am sure that Chris Jericho is one of the first names on Impact’s list to bring into the company in some sort. Jericho brings in ratings anywhere that he goes and you already know that a Chris Jericho appearance will rival the numbers of a Kenny Omega appearance.

3. Sami Zayn Joins Impact Wrestling

It could be a major year for the future of Sami Zayn as it is reported that his WWE contract is coming up in 2021. If Zayn decides not to re-sign with the company, he would be free to explore his options. Under the El Generico name, Zayn made his name in companies like Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

Unlike many other independents during that time period, he never worked for TNA. If Sami would sign with Impact Wrestling, it would be for the very first time. If Sami does decide to stay away from the El Generico character, Impact Wrestling would be the place to go. He can create a new name for himself and become a stand-out.

I don’t see AEW being a viable option for Zayn’s career at the moment. He could end up be a victim of the roster like he has been in WWE. Impact Wrestling can use somebody with the name value of Sami Zayn. They could use each other mutually to get the best out of each other. Whichever way Sami decides to go, we are hoping for the best for him moving forward.

2. Kenny Omega Becomes Impact World Champion

Arguably, the most shocking wrestling moment of the year, let alone Impact Wrestling moment of the year, was Kenny Omega showing up in Impact. This will be one of those moments that people will always remember as the AEW World Champion appeared on the rival’s show. With just one appearance, Kenny brought in a major bump in viewership.

For the first time in years, all eyes are on Impact Wrestling to see what is going to be next from Kenny Omega. We are all wanting to know what is all going to come from this relationship between the companies. It could be just for the moment, but this could be a long term deal as well. If so, who will be the next star to shake things up?

Perhaps we will see Impact World Champion Rich Swann show up on AEW television. If so, I would expect that we will see the two world champions clash somewhere down the line. 2021 is looking to be the year of Kenny Omega and he could make history to be the first person to hold the All Elite Wrestling and Impact Wrestling world championships simultaneously.

1. Impact Wrestling Becomes TNA Again

We said bold, right? Well, let’s get bold. In 2021, Impact Wrestling goes back to its roots to become Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling. Honestly, there is really no comfortable way to chant for Impact like there was to chant out T-N-A. It has been a few years since the rebranding to Impact, but many fans still refer to the company as TNA.

It doesn’t help the matter when Moose is carrying around the old TNA World Championship and calling it his own. How long will it go on before somebody does something about Moose or do they even care? They may let it slide for now, but one day something may be done. Moose can’t hold the championship forever. I expect one day Moose will have to give up the title or fight to keep it.

If TNA comes back, the TNA World Championship would once again be the main championship. Current Impact World Champion Rich Swann wouldn’t be too keen on Moose calling himself the champion. It is a wild prediction, but it is one that most fans would love to see happen. At one time, TNA was great and they are on the verge of something special. Perhaps the only thing that is missing some TNA roots.
