Naomi returns and wins WWE Royal Rumble 2021

So I guess this is two surprises in one? We already saw Naomi make a Royal Rumble return in 2020, and while Edge’s return was the headliner, Naomi’s return was actually the one that went viral on social media. Her gear, entrance, and moves in the ring were at a top star level, and it still baffles me that WWE did not capitalize on the organic reach Naomi’s Rumble performance received. It should be obvious to anyone in that company that Naomi is an all-caps STAR.

We’ve been waiting for Naomi’s return patiently for the last few months. She was drafted to the Raw brand, yet there has been no sign of her. Charlotte Flair has already made her return, showing up at the TLC PPV and winning the tag titles with a respected former opponent of hers, Asuka.

I want to see Naomi make a similar – no, bigger – immediate impact in WWE upon her return. Put her back in the Rumble again but have her win this time.

Hey, I said this is a list of surprises!

I am not interested in falsely getting anyone’s hopes up, because I know how WWE is. Trust me, I know. But imagine if they were actually competent and fair in their booking. Naomi could have a main event-caliber match with Asuka in terms of quality at WrestleMania 37. Now, they probably wouldn’t be the main event, since that seems to be SmackDown’s spot this year. But Naomi vs. Asuka would be a match for the ages.

Naomi’s earned a title shot, too. Remember when she pinned Bayley on SmackDown?

I certainly do.
