WWE Royal Rumble 2021 Match Card Predictions

Sasha Banks (c) vs. Carmella for the SmackDown Women’s Championship

OK, let’s start talking about the matches people actually care about.

Sasha Banks doesn’t have an opponent announced for WWE Royal Rumble 2021 yet, but you had better believe someone literally nicknamed “The Conversation” will have a title match at one of the three biggest Pay Per Views of the year.

Since Bayley and Carmella beat Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair and “The Untouchable One” hasn’t stopped going after the Boss, it’s safe to say we are getting a third title match between these two rivals. Mercedes and ‘Mella had a great match at TLC and a solid match prior to the Pay Per View on SmackDown, and I have a feeling their best match yet will happen at the Rumble.

Banks has a great record of performances at the Royal Rumble Pay Per View, dating back to her Ironwoman display in the 2018 Rumble and her Match of the Year-worthy outing against Ronda Rousey in 2019.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion will almost certainly retain, as her losing the title before WrestleMania 37 would be a disaster. I’d consider Sasha on-par with Roman Reigns as the biggest locks to retain their championships at the Royal Rumble PPV this year.

But the real key here is the quality of the match. Carmella’s stock will rise with a memorable effort, as she hasn’t really had a signature match in WWE despite having been a solid SmackDown Women’s Champion in her own right two years ago.
