WWE Royal Rumble 2021 Match Card Predictions

Women’s Royal Rumble Match

Whereas the Men’s Royal Rumble match feels like it is Daniel Bryan’s to lose, the Women’s Royal Rumble bout is a lot more unpredictable. WWE could go in several directions here. Alexa Bliss could win the Rumble due to the magnitude of her current storyline with Randy Orton. However, I’d love to see a new star crowned at WrestleMania 37 after a Rumble victory.

There are two candidates who stand out the most to me. First, there’s Bianca Belair. She is the most talented rising star in WWE and should be a top star sooner rather than later. It has BEEN time for WWE to capitalize on her excellence, but they failed to do so in 2019 and 2020 when there were clear opportunities to do so.

But now, on SmackDown, there are signs she will get a real push. She was called the best pick of the draft by Michael Cole, she was the standout performer at Survivor Series, and she is currently in a feud with the greatest SmackDown Women’s Champion in history in Bayley. She and Bayley are about to have a showdown for the ages at the Rumble. It would only be fitting for them to be the final two and for Bianca to eliminate Bayley.

I could also see Bianca and Bayley both being eliminated, perhaps with Bayley doing so after her own elimination out of spite for a rising star threatening her spot on Friday nights. Then, we would get a great match between them at WrestleMania.

In that case, I could see Rhea Ripley getting a well-deserved Royal Rumble victory. She is a prodigy of pro wrestling and also has all the tools to be a major star in WWE. After losing to Raquel Gonzalez in an excellent Last Woman Standing match at NXT New Year’s Evil, she seems locked in for a main roster, preferably Raw, call-up. If she wins the Rumble, a title match with Asuka – or, yes, Charlotte Flair as revenge for last year’s ‘Mania loss – could be on the cards.

WWE has options. Ultimately, I think they will go with Ripley, but this is definitely the most difficult match on the card to pick. It’s also the most exciting, and I hope the Women’s Rumble closes the show.

Prediction: Rhea Ripley
