Five Wrestlers who could face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
When It comes to who is a must-see wrestler every week, Roman Reigns is undeniably that guy. Reigns is currently the WWE universal champion and has been the top dog of Smackdown since returning at SummerSlam.
The alliance with Paul Heyman has helped pushed Reigns to be the top heel that we all knew he should have been since the beginning. The Smackdown and Raw rosters have many talented wrestlers, but only a handful has the star power to match Reigns in a WrestleMania championship program. Let’s look at the five wrestlers who have the best chances of facing Reigns at WrestleMania.
The Rock
When it comes to The Rock Vs., Reigns match, the real question is when will it happen. This is a match that wrestling fans have been wanting to see for some years now, but when Reigns returned last summer and became a heel, and started calling himself the head of the table, meaning the leader of The Samoan Dynasty, it was like the storyline was building itself. The Rock can make the case that he is still the head of his family’s table and that Reigns still got a while to go before he gets to that level. When WWE does decide to pull the trigger on this family rivalry, it will be sure to be must-see television because of how deep this storyline can go between the two of them.
Daniel Bryan
WWE has teased a potential match between Bryan and Reigns over the last couple of months. I believe that Bryan has the best chance of being the one to face Reigns at WrestleMania 37. Bryan was among the first wrestlers to declare himself for the Royal Rumble match this year. Bryan has accomplished a lot in his WWE career, but winning the Royal Rumble and going to WrestleMania would be the icing on the cake for Bryan. Bryan would be the underdog in this match, which would make the build for this match exciting because Reigns is at the top right now, and Bryan has discussed in interviews how he would be retiring from wrestling in the near future.
Big E
Ever since WWE split Big E from The New Day, he has been on a roll picking up some big wins and winning the IC title from Sami Zayn. When it comes to Big E, he is the most physically impressive wrestler on the entire Smackdown roster. Suppose WWE wants to take it old school and do an IC champion Vs. World champion title match at WrestleMania, then these are the two stars to do it with. This match would be a hard-hitting and face-paced match that would help show the world that Big E is a true star in the WWE; even if he doesn’t win the match, it could lead to Big E becoming the next big thing in the WWE.
Shinsuke Nakamura
A couple of weeks ago, we witness Shinsuke Nakamura put on an amazing performance on Smackdown where he wrestled a clean match against Daniel Bryan which lead to them shaking hands afterward, which made us fans believe that Nakamura has officially become a babyface again. If WWE does intend to push The King of Strong Style back to being a top babyface, then having him face Reigns would be huge for both wrestlers because of the type of match that they would deliver.
Cesaro
Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen Cesaro getting big wins on Smackdown. When it comes to Cesaro, we all know that he should be a world champion, but the question is would the WWE push him to be a main event player? We know he has the potential to be just that.
Reigns Vs. Cesaro would be a huge match for WWE because it would indeed be a storyline based on a wrestler who has had the fans behind him since his Ring of Honor days finally getting a shot at becoming a world champion.
With the Royal Rumble being this weekend, it will be interesting to see what direction the WWE decides to go on the road to WrestleMania. Reigns is on a legendary run as being the top heel champion, but like all movies and television shows, the bad guy always eventually gets beaten by the person the crowd wants to see win the most. These are the wrestlers that I believe have the best chances of facing Reigns at this year’s Wrestlemania.
