WWE SmackDown Predictions: Adam Pearce Will Suspend Roman Reigns

On this week’s go-home episode of WWE SmackDown, there are neither scheduled segments nor matches. Daniel Bryan, Otis, Jey Uso, Big E, Sami Zayn, Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Dolph Ziggler from WWE SmackDown will partake in the Men’s Royal Rumble, while Bianca Belair, Bayley, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, and Tamina from WWE SmackDown will partake in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
Speaking of WWE Royal Rumble 2021, there is one title match scheduled from the blue brand: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship. Some other title matches that could be added: Sasha Banks (c) vs. Carmella for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Big E (c) vs. Apollo Crews vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship, and Dirty Dawgs (c) vs. Street Profits for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
WWE SmackDown is scheduled to take place on January 29, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT live on FOX. Here are some predictions for this week’s show.
5.) Damian Priest vs. King Corbin [Grudge Match]
On last week’s episode, King Corbin defeated Dominick Mysterio. Now that Corbin has victories over both Rey and Dominick Mysterio, it is time for the Mysterios to unleash their secret plan to usurp Corbin. Mysterio had mentioned that Corbin is a former Golden Gloves boxer, and he knows just the guy they need to talk to take Corbin down. Mysterio may have hinted at a rumored NXT call up for Damian Priest.
Damian Priest has a background in mixed martial arts, which could blend well or level up to Corbin’s boxing experience. Corey Graves also mentioned on commentary that Dominick may need a ‘priest’ for help to take down Corbin, which is another clear hint at an NXT call-up for Damian Priest on this week’s episode. Priest will successfully execute Mysterios’ plan by defeating Corbin in his main roster debut and using that momentum to enter the Royal Rumble match.
