WWE: The amount of time given to Naomi in the Royal Rumble could be a good sign!

Alright. Let’s get the facts clear out the gate.

Everybody knew Naomi was returning at the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble, ok? We all knew. Not a single one of her fans was fully surprised at that.  No one. Ok.

Making things weirder, WWE wasn’t exactly that determined to hide it. Suddenly, they were uploading tweets with Naomi in last year’s Royal Rumble. Then, she was on a Royal Rumble graphic.

And on top of that, Naomi has been fairly active recently on social media (particularly Twitter), and all of a sudden, she goes silent.

Okay…

So, that’s out of the way.

But then, not only does Naomi make her hotly anticipated return during the Royal Rumble (for the second year in a row), but she came out at number two! Number two as in two out of 30 wrestlers! WWE brought her in that early in the Rumble!

Naomi returned to WWE in shocking fashion during the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble after being away for months. Her performance gives her fans hope.

Now let’s stop right there. That alone was kind of a shocking move. Especially for a return like that! The immediate question then became: How long would she last in the Rumble?

Let’s tell the truth, shall we?

Everybody knows good and damn well WWE hasn’t exactly treated Black wrestlers nicely in this type of match, male or female, especially someone like Naomi, who has been the “Kofi” of the Rumble in previous years. You know, do some trick to stay in the match and get quickly eliminated.

Nope! Not this time!

Naomi lasted a grand total of 47 minutes and 43 seconds in the Royal Rumble match! Are you hearing me?! 47 whole minutes!

Stunning! Yes, she did get eliminated, but it didn’t matter. No one likes to lose and no one likes to see their favorites lose. But, no one was really mad. Mad for what?! She did great! Naomi completely handled that match like the queen she is!

The bumps, the spots (especially with Bianca Belair and Bayley), and the saves! The serve with that outfit! All were very well done and very well booked. That might be the best they’ve ever booked her, in my opinion. That can definitely be debated.

This could be a huge sign from WWE. It could!

Remember, Naomi had enough momentum and huge buzz around her due to the “Naomi Deserves Better” movement (that has not been forgotten) to get WWE’s attention. So, it feels like WWE is about to try this again.

Now nine times out of 10, Bianca Belair, the history-making winner, is facing Sasha Banks at WrestleMania 37. That’s pretty much a given. The odds of her facing Asuka on a whole other brand just isn’t likely.

So, that’s pretty much done.

However, this could lead to Naomi officially challenging Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, for sure.

I doubt WWE would let Naomi get nearly 50 minutes in a match like that, which is unprecedented for her, and not have big plans for her post-Royal Rumble. Or at least, they better…

Naomi is the best possible opponent for Asuka at WrestleMania. So, let’s all keep our fingers crossed!
