The EST is the MVP.

Bianca Belair came to the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble and showed all the way out. She’s been saying that she’s the strongEST, the fastEST, the realEST, the bEST. Sunday night, she cemented it.

Entering at number three, it seemed like a long shot for Belair to last all the way to end (although I called itas did my fellow writer Patches Chance in his Royal Rumble predictions).

Later in the night during the men’s Royal Rumble, Michael Cole said that entrants in the third spot typically average the shortest amount of time in the Rumble. Statistically speaking, it’s the worst spot possible. (This was also stated AFTER Belair won from the third spot, but I digress).

During this Rumble, we were treated to the possibility of both a feud between Belair and Naomi and a tag team with her. These two women went at each other throughout the night, but also worked together in some spots. In what will be a highlight for years to come, Naomi used Bianca’s braid to pull herself onto the apron.

Belair makes WWE history

The Women’s Royal Rumble match should’ve main evented the pay-per-view. It was the best match on the card, particularly the final three. In a story that was told last year, Belair was in between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair. It’s where Belair uttered the famous line, “you don’t even go here!” to Charlotte.

Last year, Belair was left behind as Ripley and Flair faced each other at WrestleMania 36. In a move that received a poor reaction, Flair defeated Ripley and took her NXT Championship, just a few months into her reign.

It was poetic justice that the duo would be the ones to eliminate Flair. This then set up a fun exchange between the familiar foes. In the end, though, “The EST” was the bEST.

With her win, Belair set multiple records. She is the first Black woman to win the Royal Rumble and only the second Black wrestler to win; some fellow named The Rock was the other. Belair lasted 56 minutes in the Rumble, now the longest time spent in a single Women’s Rumble. She is also the first person to win from the three spot since Flair’s father, Ric, in 1992.

dark. Next. Good things could be in store for Naomi

The sheer joy of Belair winning was contagious. Now, she gets to put “the EST in WrESTleMania”. Her fellow Superstars were also happy, as she received a standing ovation backstage. WWE also caught a sweet moment between her and her husband, Montez Ford.

After all the craziness of the last year, we needed a true, feel-good moment. The match and the records make Bianca Belair the MVP of the Women’s Royal Rumble. Belair is beyond deserving of this moment and we’re the luckiEST to get to watch it unfold.
