WWE recently sold its WWE Network viewing rights to Peacock in the United States. The content of the wrestling juggernaut will start streaming on NBC’s streaming service in March. With a month to go until the transition happens, it is nice to see that WWE has also given its Indian streaming provider, Sony Pictures Sports Network, the authority to stream WWE Network content to its users in the Indian subcontinent.

The WWE Network special on Sony Liv comes to you for Rs. 299 per year (USD $4.50 for a year). The price is way less than the $9.99 a month Network price tag in the U.S., and it offers live streaming of all WWE Shows. With access to over 10,000 hours of WWE content, thanks to their vast video library and other WWE documentaries, biographies, and series at no additional cost, the WWE Universe in India has got a deal that is “Best For Business”.

WWE has identified India as a big market for its growth. With the plan on Sony Liv, the streaming service provider for Sony Pictures Sports Network, the WWE Universe in India can witness every show in the collection at no extra price. WWE must have an additional motive here, and if the rumours are correct, we may see a Performance Centre in India soon.

What will this WWE Network deal mean for WWE fans in India?

This deal means that WWE fans will see their local superstars in their country who will soon rise through the ranks to be on WWE programming. We saw how WWE India did a show on WWE NXT superstars of Kavita Devi, Rinku Singh, and Saurav Gurjar, and it would inspire other superstars to follow their passion.

Wrestling was our go-to medium if we wanted to see something exceptional, and over the years WWE has improved on a lot of factors for the Indian audience. India used to get a week delayed broadcast of WWE Raw back in the day. Things have changed and evolved to a level where WWE programs are streaming LIVE on Sony Pictures Sports Network TV channel where Indians live and cheer with as the moments happen in the United States.
