WWE: Five potential opponents for the returning Seth Rollins
Cesaro
Given what happened on this past week’s SmackDown, this match probably has the best chance of happening within the next month or so. During the segment where the roster collectively walked out on Rollins, he singled out Cesaro and attacked him from behind with a chop block.
Unless WWE scripted this angle only as a means to add some suspense to Cesaro and Daniel Bryan’s Elimination Chamber qualifying tag team match against SmackDown Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see Cesaro seek revenge against Rollins for this transgression.
As we have seen in many of their previous encounters — primarily in tag team matches — Cesaro and Rollins can create something special when they share the ring with one another. In most of those matches, Cesaro was positioned as a heel while Rollins played the babyface role, so it would be interesting to see them create a compelling story with the alignments flipped (Cesaro ALSO just turned babyface again last week).
Even if that blindside attack leads to just a one-off match, fans still wouldn’t hesitate to square away some time to watch these two elite workers lock up. But hopefully, that segment was a sign of much more to come.
